The first episode preview, title, storyline, and cast members for Season 3 of the Rising of the Shield Hero anime have all been unveiled. The launch date of October 6 marks the beginning of the anime’s inclusion in Crunchyroll’s Fall 2023 schedule.
The animation was produced at Studio Kinema Citrus under the direction of Hitoshi Saga. See sneak peek photos from the first episode, “Underground Colosseum.”

Synopsis of Episode 1
After recovering the Spirit Tortoise energy, Naofumi tries to to buy all the Lurolona villagers who were forced into slavery. However, the slaves have been been bought up for one reason or another. Shobun heads for Zeltobul, the land of merchants and mercenaries.

Kinema Citrus animated the first season, which aired from January to June 2019 and consisted of 25 episodes directed by Takao Abo. Season 2 aired its 13 episodes between April 2022 and June 2022. The sequel’s animation was done by DR Movie, and director Masato Jinbo. The anime may be viewed online at Crunchyroll.
Featuring artwork by Seira Minami, The Rising of the Shield Hero is a series of Japanese light novels written by Aneko Yusagi. Since 2013, it has been published by Media Factory, and in 2014, Aiya Kyu’s manga adaptation of the series was released. The rights to publish the English translation of the light novel series The Rising of the Shield Hero were granted to One Peace Books.
