Following the announcement of season 2 of Netflix’s live-action One Piece series was officially revealed, the show’s star Emily Rudd shared her personal reaction.
After a first season that was a huge success on the streaming service and garnered high-quality reviews and impressive viewing numbers, it seemed it was only a matter of time before the second set of episodes was approved for the popular anime adaptation.
The creators of the adventure of pirating have even admitted they’ve been in “thorough conversations about what [the series] would do with Season 2” should it receive the green signal, and with the hope to “12 seasons,” if the possibility exists.
This is why it came as no surprise when Netflix granted One Piece Season 2 the thumbs-up and announced it via an online video that features One Piece anime and manga creator Eiichiro Oda.
One Piece’s Live-Action Nami Ready for More
One Piece star Emily Rudd posted on social media to announce the live-action Netflix series will be getting another season.
In her first public reaction to the announcement, Rudd posted on her personal Instagram post with the caption “I’m so happy. Thank y’all we love you so so so much.”
The post was with a photo of the live-action Nami actress, who was visibly sad with a childlike smile and possibly teary eyes.

Rudd has been vocal in her support for the show she has been a huge avid fan of the original material since her early years.
After the premiere of Season 1, Rudd posted on X (formerly Twitter) that playing Nami was “[her] dream” and she couldn’t “put it into words” what it was like for her to be able to play the famous character:

When Will One Piece Season 2 Release?
As enthusiastic as Emily Rudd and the rest of the stellar cast from One Piece seem to be to start Season 2, it will take a while before the second set of episodes is available on the streaming service.
The biggest obstacle that the show has to conquer is something that nearly all productions in Hollywood are facing right now which is the ongoing actors and writers strikes.
As per Tomorrow Studios (the studio that distributes One Piece) President Becky Clements, Season 2 could be out “somewhere between a year and 18 months” when the strikes are over (via Variety).
The team behind the production has stated that the Season 2 scripts have been written and are ready to start when the writers and actors can begin work.

If Netflix, the other major guilds, and studios reach an agreement and reach an agreement, it is possible that the One Piece Season 2 train will be able to get moving.
